Background:
Founded in 1847, and transferred to its present site in 1963, the school has two classrooms, a hall, a quiet study room and library. It is set 'slightly out' of the village in 'large' grounds containing two football pitches and a conservation area. The school building is in typical 1960s style with big windows which make it 'very light and airy' with 'beautiful' views. The pupils attend from a 'good mix' of rural farming and urban backgrounds. Bolton has four after-school clubs for junior pupils and provision for keyboard, guitar and cello tuition. The school's 'strong' parent-teacher's association has raised money to equip the library and hall. Each year the school 'welcomes' story-tellers, musicians and sports coaches who 'extend the pupils learning and cultural appreciation'. The school is currently over-subscribedand receives 10 applications for every eight places.
