Calthwaite School is a Church of England voluntary aided school for boys and girls aged four to 11 years. The school has in more recent times been updated and extended; and providing extension facilities in a traditional style building with four separate classrooms, hall, kitchen, library area, staffroom and office. It is surrounded by extensive landscaped grounds, which have also benefited from a programme of developing, incorporating, a spacious grassed area for various sports. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include skipping, football, ball-games, table tennis, cricket, hockey, rugby, and football. The school aims to offer a happy, safe and secure environment in a family atmosphere.
