Background:
Derwent Vale Nursery Primary School is a small village school built in 1995 on the outskirts of Workington in West Cumbria. The new building is set in large grounds and has very good access for the disabled. Classes are small and everyone benefits from teaching assistants support. After-school clubs include computers, guitar and a variety of games. Parents are involved in the life of the school by helping in classrooms and organising fundraising activities. Courses in computing for adults regularly take place in the school's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) suite. The school follows the county's vision: 'The best for every learner, inspiration for all'.
