Background:

Southfield Technology College is an optimistic and ambitious forward thinking college, proud of its achievements, determinedly aiming for high standards in all it does and high achievements for all its students. The college will promote an educational culture that is scientific, technological and vocational. Southfield Technology College seeks to promote care and respect for individuals and their environment throughout the college and the local community. The college provides programmes of guidance and personal and social education, and for many students these are sufficient to help them through this potentially stressful period of adolecence. The library is a large, bright and welcoming place, which pupils use to support their studies. There are six pc workstations in the library with internet access and encyclopaedias on CD rom. The following activities take place out of college hours:- choral speaking group, soccer, cricket, netball, badminton, hockey, choir, rugby and art club. The school'seeks to promote care and respect for individuals and their environment throughout the college and the local community.
