Background:

Gosforth is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England Primary School that welcomes children of all denominations and faiths. It is situated within the village of Gosworth on the edge of the Lake District National Park. As well as children from Gosforth, its catchment area covers Saltcoats, Holmrook, Drigg, Stubble Green and Wasdale Valley. The school has a substantial number of computers available to each class, allowing children to develop their confidence and skills in information and technology for use in all areas of the curriculum. Children are given the opportunity to participate fully in a variety of activities: drama, dance, gymnastics, football, netball, cricket, rounders and athletics. Teamwork and co-operation are encouraged and the school places high value on team sports. The school aims to developing well-rounded, capable, adaptable and independent citizens able to meet and rise to the challenges they will face in tomorrow's world.
