Background:

The combined infant and junior school opened as a county maintained primary school in September 1998, in an extended building at the junior site. The infant department (KS1) consists of a purpose built nursery unit and four infant classrooms. Each classroom is equipped and furnished to a modern standard, additionally the area benefits from a purpose built quiet area, reading and resource sections. The junior department (KS2) consists of six classrooms used for class and set teaching, an equipped science and food technology room, art and design room and purpose deigned computer-working areas both inside and outside the classrooms. The two departments have access to a hall, which is used for a variety of purposes such as whole school assemblies, drama, PE and music. At Orgill it is fortunate in having extensive facilities for information technology that can be accessed by the children and the community. The school offers a variety of sports including: outdoor games, netball, gym & French. The school fosters a caring, motivating environment within an atmosphere of mutual respect.
