Background:
The school founded on the present site in 1821 (as per the Trust Deed document), and the building now in use opened in 1963, with additional classrooms added in 1969, 1986, 1999 and 2004, providing accommodation for approximately 250 children. Recent investment of over £750,000 has seen a complete transformation of school's facilities. Five new classrooms have been built, a new library, a new staff room, a new computer laboratory and new office or entrance hall. The school is now in the process of building a new assembly hall. Heavy investment in ICT, with over 50 PCs, has also given school a superb pupil to PC ratio of 5:1. Scotby School is strongly reinforced by extra-curricular activities encompassing netball, rugby, golf tuition and soccer. Inter-School Sport is expanding, with numerous netball, football, athletic and chess fixtures. School's success in recent times has made it necessary to buy a trophy cabinet.
