The Nelson Thomlinson School founded in 1714 and serves the town of Wigton and a large rural area. The school has a long and honourable tradition of high standards in music, but its musical life has never been more vibrant and varied than it is at present. It is strong at sport, too particularly in football, where its teams are regularly county champions. The school's site is with beautiful building. This school has a traditional but good humoured ethos with a strong emphasis on teaching and learning.
