Background:
Orton School is a Church of England primary school for girls and boys aged three to 11 years. The school has been housed in its present buildings since 1983 and is located in a beautiful, rural area close to the M6 motorway. In addition to the national curriculum, pupils learn French in Years 4 to 6. Mathematics and sports clubs are offered as extra-curricular activities and pupils may learn a tuned instrument from Year 2 and flute or clarinet in Years 5 and 6 for no charge. Swimming is taught to all pupils. The national curriculum has core subjects including English, mathematics, science and information and communication technology and foundation subjects including geography, history, art, technology, physical education and music. The school aims to provide a secure and stimulating environment for all children to develop their full potential through challenge and to experience success.
